The Gifted’s latest single “Purity” featuring Kossisko is a funky new collaboration with a major disco influence throughout it, alongside an electronic backbone. After producing and co-writing the title track on Kossisko’s Red, White, and Cruel EP The Gifted knew they had to collaborate with Kossisko on this project. Castle Explains “I just wanted to make a track that me and my lady could roller-skate to.”
Los Angeles production duo The Gifted, comprised of Louis Castle and James Bairian, are quickly gaining traction working together on countless projects co-writing and producing artists. Most recently their work on Tayler Buono’s “Technically Single” reached over 11 million plays on Spotify and hit #1 on the US Viral charts. More credits include Cardiknox, Dresses, Hot as Sun, and Mackenzie Thoms, and composing an original score for the instant horror classic Southbound.
In his former artistic life Kossisko was the rapper 100s. He since has abandoned the moniker in lieu of his birth name, Kossisko. Now armed with nuanced sensual vocals, mesh shirts, and silky hair he challenges sexism, homophobia, and gender conformity through his music. Kossisko explains about Purity “I wanted to make a song about the double standard between men and women when it comes to promiscuity and fidelity.”
